Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
When you sign in with GitHub, we collect:
- GitHub profile information: username, email address, and avatar URL
- GitHub OAuth token: used to fetch commit data from repositories on your behalf
When you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe collects your payment information directly. We store only your Stripe customer ID — we never see or store your card number.
2. How We Use Your Information
- GitHub token: to fetch commits from repositories you specify. We only access repos when you explicitly request a changelog.
- Email: for account identification and Stripe billing
- Commit data: sent to the Anthropic Claude API to generate changelogs. Commit data is not stored after the changelog is generated.
- Usage tracking: we count how many changelogs you generate per month to enforce plan limits
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- GitHub: authentication and repository data access
- Anthropic (Claude API): AI-powered changelog generation. Commit messages are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Stripe: payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
4. Data Storage
- Your account data (GitHub profile, OAuth token, subscription status) is stored in our database
- Changelogs are generated on-demand and not stored — you receive the output and we discard it
- We use httpOnly cookies for session management
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at support@gitlogpretty.com.
6. Cookies
We use a single httpOnly session cookie (token) for authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
7. Your Rights
You may:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Revoke GitLogPretty's access via GitHub application settings
